ATTENTION: CHOIR MEMBERS, SINGERS AND MUSICIANS...Rehearsals for the Detroit Mass Choir to sing for the NAACP National Convention being held in Detroit, MI at Cobo Hall from July 7th - 12th. Rehearsals will be held every Friday evening from 7p - 9p at Unity Baptist Church located at 7500 Tireman Avenue (btwn. Livernois and Wyoming).

THE RUSSELL STREET SOUP KITCHEN has reopened and the schedule is Monday, through Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Thank you, Reverend Coleman

2007 ANNUAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION

Let us pray for the 2007 Women’s Day Arise and Shine Celebration. The upcoming plans are 100 WOMEN IN WHITE and GOD’S TROMBOME PLAY. This year’s Women’s Ministry goal is $10,000. Women’s Day is Sunday, September 9, 2007.

RUSSELL STREET MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH PROGRESSIVE USHER BOARD Presents a Mother’s Day Brunch and Fashion Show, Featuring Comedienne “Sista Ketchup” on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. here at the church. Donation is $10.00, see any member of the Progressive Usher Board for tickets. Mother’s Day basket will be available for purchase. Thank you, Sister Karen Posley - Chairperson.

BP AND CO. PRESENTS the Spectacular Broadway Play “THE COLOR PURPLE” - Departure: July 6, 2007. Price - $250, which includes a one-night stay at the Holiday Inn Mart-Plaza in Chicago, IL, a ticket to the play and round trip transportation. $50 deposit due by March 1st and total balance must be paid by May 20th. DEACON RENARDO PRINGLE is the Detroit NAACP Chairperson for Russell Street. There is a membership campaign going on and each member is encouraged to join. Please see Deacon Pringle or contact the church office for a membership form.

DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, please call the church to make sure the church’s weekly activities have not been cancelled. The recording will also advise you of any schedule changes.

If there are any women or girls interested in joining a LITURGICAL DANCE MINISTRY, please contact any Mission Ministry member or give your name to the church office. (All ages are welcome). Classes will be on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. (Senior Women are encouraged to attend). Classes will be held at The Gem Studio of Dance located at 14587 Livernois, Detroit, MI., The classes are free, although donations are welcome, we would like to give the instructor a Love offering. BAPTIST TRAINING UNION (BTU) is an educational agency of the church and is open to all members of the church. BTU provides training to our members to enhance their spiritual growth. It also helps each member develop Christian character as they grow in the knowledge of Baptist Beliefs, doctrine and ministries. Some of the topics for 2007 will be Testimonies, Spiritual Gifts and the Greeters Ministry, to name a few. BTU is held on the first Sunday of the month in the Fellowship Hall immediately following morning worship.

THE YOUTH AND CHILDREN’S MINISTRY have many exciting activities planned and would like for you to be apart of it. Please come out to the next meeting, Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. It is important for all parents and youth supervisors to attend the monthly Youth Department meetings.

RUSSELL STREET’S ANNUAL FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY will be on Sunday, April 29th, please bring all of your family and friends to worship and fellowship with us all day. Dinner will also be served after morning worship. Please bring in your favorite non-meat dish. It is also casual Sunday, feel free to wear your Russell Street attire.
